Karen Marie Mason, a 20-year industry veteran, started her career as a marketing executive at Sony Music in New York, and later continued as head of Black Music Marketing at East/West/Elektra Records under the tutelage of Sylvia Rhone. Over the years she developed and executed marketing plans for groups as varied as En Vogue, Gerald Levert, Kam, Tracy Chapman, Ziggy Marley, Kris Kross, Cypress Hill and the Fugees. After leaving the corporate world to pursue her life long commitment to Motherhood, Karen launched Destiny Entertainment as the main marketing arm of superstar Mary J. Blige. Destiny later morphed into the Honor Music Group, a management, marketing and communication firm with a focus on artist management and song placement in film and television. She was one of the founders of the Live Your Purpose Conference, Bob Marley Atlanta Fest, Dr. John Henrik Clarke Lecture Series, Blackgirl Magazine's Sessions Series, The Respect Series, First Teachers Homeschooling Network,  and regularly promotes shows, lectures, films and special events. In addition Karen stays well connected to who’s who in the industry as one of the top location scouts in the country. Her clients/videos include Ciara, 50 Cent, Yung Jeezy, Young Joc, Lil Wayne, T.I.  and many more. Most recently she was the location scout for Tyler Perry Productions working on “Daddy’s Little Girls”, “Why Did I Get Married” and “Meet The Browns”, Robert Downey and Jamie Foxx's "Due Date" , MTV's Teen Wolf, and many more. She has also appeared on the other side of the screen in Dee Robinson's recently released short film, "It's Never Too Late". Currently the Honor Music Group manages Khalilah Ali, Kelly Love Jones, theDOLLDAZE, artist Fahamu Pecou and growing list of artistic souls. Most recently poet Queen Sheba and Fertile Ground lead singer, Navasha Daya have joined the growing stable of Honor artists. Karen is the host of Sunday Night Fyah on WRFG. Sunday nights from 10pm – Midnight. 

And significantly Karen is the mother if Kenya Jordana James, a homeschooled child prodigy who started her own magazine  (Blackgirl Magazine) at 12, appeared on Oprah and national and international television at 13 and is currently an Honors student graduate of Howard University. .
