Ms. Cunningham started in entertainment practicing as a transactional attorney focusing on entertainment and new media contracts. Ms. Cunningham has since expanded her professional practice to focus on the management of music publishing and master recording catalogues for established songwriters ? such as Lee Hazlewood (These Boots Are Made for Walkin’), Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Harvey Fuqua (Sincerely) and Dance Hall Singjay Clifford Smith p/k/a Mr. Vegas (I Am Blessed) ? whose catalogs generate annual revenue in excess of $1 million dollars. As a passionate advocate for copyright owners receiving fair compensation for the commercial exploitation of their works, up until the date of the copyright expiry, Ms. Cunningham represents songwriters who weren’t aware of their rights and entitlement flowing therefrom, but are now taking control of (and reclaiming) their valuable asset ? their musical works.
Ms. Cunningham received a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from South Carolina State University, and is a member of the Black Women in Entertainment Law (BWEL) and the Hudson Bergen Inn of Transactional Counsel.
