Robert A. Celestin

 

Robert A. Celestin has practiced entertainment law in New York for over 20 years.  A graduate of Yale University and Columbia Law School; Mr. Celestin started his legal career as an Associate at Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler.  He then went on to work in the legal department of Arista Records before becoming the VP/GM of Uptown Records, Inc., the label responsible for the careers of “Mary J. Blige”, “Jodeci”, “Guy” and others and worked alongside Sean “P-Diddy” Combs.  He later went on to work for Untouchables Entertainment, Inc., as VP/GM and was instrumental in the success of “Pete Rock and CL Smooth”, “Intro” and “Donnell Jones”.  Mr. Celestin then went on to work with his mentor Louise West, Esq. in representing “Timbaland”, “Missy Elliot” and “Ginuwine”.  Mr. Celestin also managed the platinum selling group “City High” and presently develops new artists via his production company – Intelligent Music Entertainment, Inc.

Presently, Mr. Celestin’s law firm represents independent labels, artists, producers, songwriters, as well as major artists such as “Secondhand Serenade”, “The Clipse”, “Mickey Factz”, “Petey Pablo”, celebreality stars “Toccara” and “Laurieann Gibson”, super manager “Blue Williams” and old school legends like “Marley Marl” and “Uncle Ralph McDaniels”, among others.
